FEAST VALENZUELA YEAR 15: A Celebration of Family, Faith, and Friendship
FEAST VALENZUELA YEAR 15
A Celebration of Family, Faith, and Friendship
A JOYFUL, JOYFUL DAY for The Feast Valenzuela as it celebrated its 15th Founding Anniversary at Puregold Paso De Blas last August 2025.
Centered on the beautiful theme, I Have Called You Friends, the event manifested the enduring friendship between God and His people.
The celebration began 9:00 A.M., with Holy Mass at 9:00 A.M. presided by Rev.Fr. Prospero V. Tenorio, setting the tone for a day of worship and thanksgiving.
Beginnings and Blessings
Overjoyed over Feast Valenzuela’s milestone, our Light of Jesus Family founder, Bro. Bo Sanchez, blessed the Feasters with a life-changing talk, reminding every one of the bigger vision and mission of The Feast Movement to serve God and His people. especially the poor.
More than ecstatic, two pillars of the Community, expressed deep gratitude for God’s grace that allows Feast Valenzuela’s many blessings:
Bro. Danny Añonuevo (extreme left), former Feast Builder, right there during the humble beginnings of Feast Valenzuela, helping plant the seeds of faith that continue to grow; and Bro. Boggs Burbos, now the Feast Builder, passionate leader, guiding the Community today.
Here is Bro. Boggs’ very inspiring story of Feast Valenzuela’s journey…
I started joining The Feast in 2008 in Valle Verde.
When Bro. Bo Sanchez moved The Feast to the Philippine International Convention Center, and Feast Valle was turned over to Bro. Obet Cabrillas (left)
I stayed on as Council Member.
I was asked to start a Feast in Cabanatuan in 2010, and later in Dasmarinas (Cavite) in 2012. I was anointed the District Builder of Cavite in 2017.
Finally, I was tasked to be Area Builder of North Luzon Area in 2019.
The Feast Valenzuela started with the Couples group of the LOJ-affiliated community Dakilang Pag-ibig sa Diyos (DPD). While they were holding their prayer meetings, they adopted a Feast-style, once-a-month Worship session called Papuri.
One of their leaders, Bro. Danny Añonuevo, was already serving as a Music minister at the Feast Valle Verde.
Providential Journey
In 2010, when Bro. Bo announced that The Feast will be moving out from Valle Verde and multiplying in different locations, Feast Valenzuela was among the first to establish a Feast.
Bro. Eng Si (left) was the first Feast Builder, and the gathering was located at the Feast SM Valenzuela. By 2016, another Feast was established as the Feast People’s Park headed by Bro. Danny.
They would later become the Camanava
District (of which Feast Valenzuela is the ‘mother Feast’).
In 2018, Bro. Danny became the District Builder of Camanava.
They established more Feasts in the District in four locations: Feast SM Valenzuela, Feast One Mall, and Feast People’s Park, and Feast SM Sangandaan. Then, the Coronavirus Disease (COVID 2019) Pandemic happened.
In 2022, Bro. Danny had to retire from Feast service. (The year before, Bro. Marvin Tan retired, too, and Feast Bulacan District was included in the North Luzon Area).
Coincidentally, it was decided that Valenzuela should be part of The Feast Bulacan District since Valenzuela is part of the Diocese of Malolos.
Providentially, since I live in nearby Quezon City while serving our Feasts in North Luzon, Feast Valenzuela was endorsed to me.
Currently, there are two Feasts in Valenzuela: one in Puregold Paso de Blas, and One Mall. Both Feasts are held on Sundays in the Cinemas, 9:30 A.M. and 1:00 P.M., respectively.
Faith, Love, Mercy
The Feast Valenzuela supports our Central Mercy Ministries. Annually, we identify two of our Mercy Ministries and donate financial assistance.
Most recently, we visited and celebrated with He Cares Mission for Street Children on the blessing of their new chapel.
The 15th anniversary wasn’t just a celebration of years but of God’s faithfulness, the power of servant leadership, and the unbreakable bonds of community formed in Christ.
The prayers, shouts of praise, and camaraderie proved that this was not just anniversary but a full-circle moment, a testament to the impact of saying “Yes” to God and walking together in faith.
Here’s to the next chapter of Feast Valenzuela!
We claim bigger dreams, unconditional love, and most important, deeper faith!
